Saving energy by monitor Light pollution

I proposed to the STFC monitoring the moons brightness as modern solar panels are sensitive enough to generate electrify from moonlight, and street lighting could be adjusted to use less power when it is a bright full moon, to reduce CO2 emissions from power stations, the Energy crisis that followed Russia invasion of Ukraine later lead to power rationing across the UK, and a rise in the cost of power for households highlighting the need for sensible use of electricity.

Below are some of the facts:

1 kilogram of carbon is equivalent to turning off one lightbulb for 24 hours, well designed artificial lighting can reduce energy consumption and light pollution. today more people live the Cities in Sub-Saharan Africa, than in whole of Europe and North America combined.

The Clean air act and low vehicle emissions restrictions were brought in to force to protect workers who spend long periods at road side including public, police and traffic wardens.

The turbines will stop spinning for good this year as the UK meets its pledge to ban coal use. Closer of the UK's last coal-fired power station at Ratcliffe-on-Soar, and marking the 'End of the first Industrial Revolution'.

Transport accounts for around 30% of global carbon emissions 72% of these emissions come from road transportation, (see Digital engineering)

Construction 38% of Global CO₂ emissions annually, with concrete production accounting for 8%. Towns and Cities in hotter climates around the globe built with concrete absorb heat from the Sun during the day releasing it during the night acting as storage heaters artificially raising temperatures, contributing two fold to global warming.

Small island states are most affected by climate change but only contribute 2% of global emotions.

Dr Christopher Kyba, a scientist from the German Research Centre for Geosciences in Potsdam, told the BBC: "Our view of the stars is disappearing". 2023 conclusion of 12 years of amateur astronomers and citizen scientists going out at night to count the stars, almost 10% annual increase in sky brightness every year. According to a 2022 study by the European Space Agency link the relatively low cost of LED lighting is also contributing to the problem. see what you'r missing in the night sky with the SkyPortal app android link iPhone link.

Sustainability: Renewable energy

Solar panels generated the majority of electricity in our home, with feed in tariff paid to exported electricity to the national Grid (in England), using electricity smart meter managing kW kilowatt-hours used, using power hungry electrical appliances only on Sunny days.
